Based in Arden Hills, MN, the Land O’Lakes Dairy Co-op was formed with the belief that they’re better when their farmers work together. Today, Land O’ Lakes is more than 1,700 dairy farmers, and 10,000 employees strong who process and distribute products for about 300,000 agricultural producers. The co-op is one of the largest producers of butter and cheese in the United States. Through its Purina Animal Nutrition business; they serve pet and livestock owners nationwide. They also deliver seed, crop protection products, agricultural services and agronomic insights through its WinField United business.
Land O’ Lakes successfully combines the strong shared values of a thriving co-op with a culture of innovation, sustainability, and giving back to the communities they passionately serve. Teamwork makes the cream work, as they say.
THE CHALLENGE
Land O’ Lakes owns and operates dozens of b2c and b2b brands. The world knows them for their delicious and premium dairy products – butter, cheese, and more – but most don’t realize they also own businesses focused on animal feed and seed/crop protection. While some brands cater to dog and cat lovers, other brands seek to instill confidence with cattle farmers. Ensuring consistently great digital experiences on their varying web properties, across all of their brands was their big challenge.
