If you are curious about coding and submitting faster in a Topcoder development challenge or even  in TCO development championship round then here are some aspects that can enable you to complete most of Topcoder development challenge requirements efficiently intime.

Setting up the environment: A finalists can either use the system provided by Topcoder or his/her own personal laptop. All tinalists are given a 30 minute setup time before the championship round begins.  During this a quick check is usually performed by the finalists to ensure that all the required applications are installed. If not, they can inform the admins & get it installed.

If a finalist uses his/her personal laptop then they also need to make sure they have all the cables and accessories required to connect their laptop to the monitor provided by Topcoder and to the wifi network.

Surfing for references on the internet: The finalist are allowed to browse websites for reference however in the  onsite finals the time is very limited. So how a finalist manages to get all the information needed by avoiding searching too much on the internet becomes an important aspect. A finalist may also bookmark the references and web pages they are most likely going to use.

Time management:  Setting up the priority, allocating time to complete requirements & deciding the order in which to complete the requirements are some of the important aspects of time management. Planning these avoids a finalist to get stuck on something & helps him/her in moving to the next requirement in case got stuck on a requirement.

Challenge specification and doubt clarification:  How quickly a finalist reads the challenge requirements & clarifies all his/her doubts by raising in the challenge forum is crucial. It helps a finalist in completing the requirements quickly & it also prevents him/her from using a technology/framework that is restricted. Using a restricted technology/framework may lead to heavy penalty on their final score or even disqualification.
