August 27, 2020 A 2020 Topcoder Open Finals Update

As we look ahead into September, it is time to finalize the plans for the 2020 Topcoder Open Finals. I have been wanting to hold out on the fate of the TCO20 Finals as long as I could in hopes that our world was somewhat back to normal. Unfortunately that is not the case.

Riding on the success of our virtual TCO regional events, we have made the decision to host our TCO20 Finals virtually as well. It is not a choice we’ve made lightly as we considered everything but at the end of the day, the safety and well being of our community, our staff, and our families definitely took precedence. 

With that said, the good news is that YOU are all invited! I can’t wait to bring the TCO20 Finals into the homes of every member we have. Join us for the welcome reception all the way through to the awards ceremony to see who is crowned our new champions. We have some of the most talented people in the world who will be vying for that iconic brackets trophy and it won’t matter if they are in the USA on the TCO stage or at their homes because that prestige will still reign supreme!

Congratulations again to all our TCO20 Finalists and trip winners! We are so very proud of them all and though we won’t get to see everyone in person, we hope to meet many of you virtually cheering them on.

The final dates for the virtual TCO20 Finals will be solidified over the coming weeks so stay tuned for more information. I really hope members far and wide are able to be there with us.
