Challenge Details
The goal of this challenge is to design the look and feel of a native iPhone experience.
Problem: AutoTouch
Modern cars have an Onboard Diagnostics II (OBD2) port used by car dealerships to scan a car and detect error codes to solve maintenance issues. A wide range of OBD2 Bluetooth devices allows any car owner to access the same information using their computer or mobile phone. Having these devices and apps provides insight into what's going on with your vehicle, long before any significant problems ever occur.
In this challenge, we are looking to design a mobile application that provides an engaging real-time dashboard to drivers with the latest information about their car. The application would allow users to monitor their car, prevent surprise issues, and help them with preventive maintenance by providing helpful advice about abnormalities. The application can also provide useful real-time information when the car engine is on. This mobile application could tie in additional modern app features like letting you know where the nearest gas station is because your fuel is low.

- Show current sensor data.
- Why the check engine light is on before visiting a mechanic
- I/M readiness (emission information)
- Live data from the engine, cylinder data, transmission gears, temperature, coolant.
- Battery information
- Engine RPM
- Vehicle Speed and acceleration data
- Fuel system status
- And more
Design Challenge: Car Status Dashboard
We are looking to design a mobile experience that quickly provides car owners with their car's health status and alerts them when it detects an issue. The application can give daily reassurance that their car is working okay and avoid unwanted surprises.
Dashboard Screen
- Dashboard - what do you think should be here? How is this useful to a car owner "at a glance."
- Daily status?
- Any error codes and how to solve issues
- Any recommendations from the app to the user?
- Standard items/indicators like battery health, gas mileage remaining, engine health, oil status, etc.
- The application could provide recommendations of actions to solve or mitigate any issues

- Car owners looking for an easy way to "really know what is going on with their car."
Identifying information
- DO NOT use your NAME or TOPCODER HANDLE/USERNAME in your submission
- We are only sharing the submission number during the judging process (XXXXX vs. XXXXX) to the judge.
Judging Criteria
- The TCO judges will evaluate your design on the following criteria:
- Originality in your concept.
- Does the UX make sense?
- Good clean UI design

- Submit your Source file (does not need to be organized)
- Upload your design to MarvelApp for review
- Note file with Marvel link and anything else
Marvel
- Topcoder will assign each competitor a MarvelApp before the competition. Make sure to upload your design for judging. Round 1 Marvelapp project is called “TCO Challenge5” so make sure to upload your designs in that project.
