Challenge Introduction
Welcome to "Tiger - DViz Dashboard Viewer Responsive Web App Design Concepts Challenge"!

In this challenge, we are looking for your help to come-up with an interface that allows users to view the data that has been aggregated from various dashboards, DViz assets (tableau, Power BI, etc.) all into one place. Through this DViz viewer, we allow employees to find the right content based on their roles and function.

NOTE: This challenge is not about new analytics (or) organizing data but rather focus on putting the right content in front of the right people leveraging what we already have in place and provide a way for the user to view aggregated data in one place.

We are excited to see your designs and concepts for this challenge!
Good Luck!

Round 1

Submit your initial design for a Checkpoint Feedback

As part of your checkpoint submission, you must upload your submission to MarvelApp so we can provide direct feedback on your designs.
- Please include the MarvelApp URL in the comments while uploading your submission
- Make sure all pages have correct flow. Use the proper file numbers, (1, 2, 3, etc.)

Round 2

Submit your Final Design plus Checkpoint Updates

As part of your final submission, you must upload your submission to MarvelApp so we can
provide direct feedback on your designs.
- Please include the MarvelApp URL in the comments while uploading your submission
- Make sure all pages have correct flow. Use the proper file numbers, (1, 2, 3, etc.)
This challenge is focused on creating a responsive web app that aims to align our organization around a core set of business performance metrics and standardize the delivery of and access to data and analytics needed to manage the business, thereby generating value and enabling growth.

The initial focus will be on efficiencies gained through Eliminating Redundant Activity (please see problem mentioned below to understand more on this) and streamlining the way that insights are delivered to the end user through the creation of a persona based "Single Pane of Glass" that is available to all levels of the organization, driving consistency and a single source of truth.

Current Problem:
Currently, everyone in the organization is building dashboards and data tools in a vacuum, each of these users brings in data from internal and external sources. Not everyone knows what everyone else is creating, or has access to it.

Solution:
  • We would like to bring all data and resources into a central space:
  • Create a web app that is accessible by anyone in the organization to go get proper content and have them see the relative info for themselves.
  • This solution will render content from Tableau, QlikView, Excel, the Web, Proprietary External Analytics (e.g. Nielsen Answers or Google Analytics) - consolidate the data from the different resources all into one place.
  • Focus on getting the right info to the right people based on the user persona.
  • Data such as business Performance, metrics, KPI, and executive management data
  • Provide access to the right certified content
  • There is an opportunity to cross-pollinate data and draw conclusions and build models on top of that.

Design Considerations:
  • We are looking for modern & clean designs (think FLAT, futuristic).
  • Need to be styled more like a consumer-facing app: Netflix, Xfinity, etc. (not like an internal employee app)
  • Have your designs of size:
    • 1366 x 768px (desktop)
    • 750 x 1334px (mobile)

Branding Guidelines:
Please follow the colors that have been provided:

Required Dashboard Viewer:
This web app will be used by all employees regardless of Region, Business Unit, or Function for standardized reporting and analytics.

Features to be considered:
Please take a look at the provided matrix of information on personas and Information Workstreams (NOTE: The provided screenshots are just placeholders for the dashboard and not the exact dashboards from the client).
  • The focus for this challenge is on the “Executive Leadership” Persona which is able to access all information workstreams.
  • The user will be able to select a persona and view the data that is appropriate to them
  • Based on the persona chosen, allow the user to choose category/information workstreams (Sales, Finance, HR, brand building, supply chain), Note: there could be more categories in the future..so think through on how to put this up!
  • Based on the category, appropriate dashboards are shown (There can be a maximum of 5 contents/dashboards in an information workstream) - we are open to your thoughts on how best this can be shown. The user can choose the dashboard they are interested in and view that dashboard
  • Should have “Data Suggestions” feature based on the user persona (i.e. suggest on what data/dashboard can be viewed by them or helpful to them) and also based on the recently viewed data, and most viewed data (Think of it like Netflix. You are able to view content by various categories but the platform also makes suggestions of content based on what you’ve previously viewed, what others are viewing, by popularity, etc.)
  • Provide ability for the user to run analytics on the data views, so that shows how users are interacting with the data.
  • Overall, think through the provided requirements and come up with meaningful designs for the dashboard viewer.
  • We are open to your thoughts on features that you think would be useful.

Important:
  • Keep things consistent. This means all graphics styles should work together.
  • All of the graphics should have a similar feel and general aesthetic appearance
  • Focus on User Experience / how the user interacts within the dashboard.

MarvelApp Prototype
  • We need you to upload your screens to Marvelapp.
  • Please send your Marvel app request to csystic@gmail.com
  • You MUST include your Marvel app URL in notes /comments while uploading (in your marvel app prototype, click on share and then copy the link & share it within your notes while you upload).

Target Audience:
- Internal Employees

Judging Criteria:
  • How well you plan the user experience and capture your ideas visually.
  • Cleanliness of your graphics and design.
  • Overall design, UI and user experience.
  • Consistency across the UX/UI
  • How well you interpret the example screens (business relevance) and show us new ideas and concepts.
