Challenge Overview

Do you feel a love in the air? It is Saint Valentine day around the corner! To celebrate, IBM organizes a series of four interesting development challenges with a large prize pool. In these challenges you will use IBM Watson to solve some fun problems related to the Saint Valentine day.

If you don't have IBM Cloud Account yet, please register it via this link; also consider to join the renovated Topcoder Cognitive Community, if you have not already.

In the second challenge of series we want you to create a ChatBot that will chat with people about various stuff and do sentimental analysis to get an idea about each person’s character and personality. It then will automatically match people with similar personalities and common interests, and introduce them to each other. We expect that the ChatBot will be powered by the IBM Watson Conversation Service, and it will use IBM Watson Personality Insights Service and IBM Watson Tone Analyser to get some idea about the person, while asking some fun questions. Your solution should be deployable to the IBM Cloud. Within these restrictions you are free to choose technologies, and probably additional features, to create an impressive and fun application. Feel free to clarify your doubts in the challenge forum, or contacting the copilot privately, if you don’t want to disclose your ideas to other participants. Also you are welcome to check and join the renovated Topcoder Cognitive Community, if you have not done it already.

This challenge will be judged by community reviewers using subjective scorecards. Although the code and documentation quality are important as always, the main focus will be to select submission that creates the best user experience within challenge requirements, and, probably, develop the proposed idea with some creative addons.

Final Submission Guidelines

Submit you code, including deployment and verification instructions, and a demo video of your solution in action.

Reliability Rating and Bonus

For challenges that have a reliability bonus, the bonus depends on the reliability rating at the moment of registration for that project. A participant with no previous projects is considered to have no reliability rating, and therefore gets no bonus. Reliability bonus does not apply to Digital Run winnings. Since reliability rating is based on the past 15 projects, it can only have 15 discrete values.
