Welcome to the Aegle – iPad Application Design Concepts Challenge!

In this challenge, we are looking for design concepts and visual ideas of an iPad application, which handles medical inquiries. We’re also looking to the community to come up with interesting ideas for the workflow - we’re absolutely open to creative solutions or improvements in the existing process!

We currently have a website version of the process and now we need to convert it to a mobile (iPad) experience.

At the end of this challenge, we are looking to have a complete solution on how UI/UX of this mobile application should be designed in order to help achieve our client’s business goals.

Challenge Description:
Aegle is looking to provide a better mobile experience for medical representative (MR) to raise medical inquiries and view medical inquiries response from medical information team.

Design Concept Goals:
- How should this tablet application graphically look?
- Suggest screen flows, navigation and screen effects.
- How quickly (when opening the application) could a user find what they are looking for?
- This is going to be an iOS application, so don’t forget to follow iOS best practices.
- Think simple but effective solutions!  Have fun creating this - let us know how you think it should work!
- We want this to be designed simple/clean/sophisticated

Submission Details:
- Use the logical resolution of iPad (1024 by 768) for submission.
- This will be a native application - remember to design for native (not browser based) application.
- Make sure you create graphic in 'shape' format, so when resizing for retina versions, graphics still look sharp!
- It will be great if you can provide the landscape version.
- Make sure you include screen effect ideas.

Challenge Requirements:
- Design the overall screen flow optimized for iPad
- Design each screens with simple/clean/sophisticated manner, without going too far from the company branding look & feel.
- Review the user story and capture the interactions
- Be creative on screen flow, screen design and screen effects.
- Keep things consistent. This means all graphic styles should work together.
- All of the graphics should have a similar feel and general aesthetic appearance.
- There is no design guideline, community creativity is welcome but focus is on the better usability and performance.

User Stories:
1. As a user, I need to submit new medical inquiries, include therapeutic area, related product, inquiry question, whether the inquiry is for a doctor or for self-study purpose. If the inquiry is for a doctor, I need choose a doctor from the doctor base. I can use doctor name, hospital name, email, and mobile phone to search for the doctor. I can also see my previously used doctors.

2. As a user, I need to view the response of the inquiry, including the response text, response time, response person and the supporting medical literature. The medical literature is usually in PDF format. I can click 'read' to display the content of the literature, and can choose to print or save.

3. As a user, I need to view all my historical medical inquiries. I can search by therapeutic area, related product and time. I can sort by therapeutic area, related product and time. I can click on one medical inquiry to view the detail.

Current system for creating a new medical inquiry:
A- Create New Application:

- In this page we will show how a Medical Representative (MR) creates a new application.
- On the Service List page, MR can enter the Application page by clicking the button “New Application”, referring to the attached screenshot. (create new application.png)
- The inputs can be saved as a draft, the status of a saved application form is “Draft”.
- The terms and conditions will not show up until the field “application purpose” is selected.
- The button “Submit” will not show up until the terms and conditions are agreed.
- An application cannot be submitted until all the “starred” fields (mandatory fields) are filled in.

B- Application Purpose:

- There is a “application purpose” field in the application page. The terms and conditions will not show up until the field “application purpose” is selected.
- The button “Submit” will not show up until the terms and conditions are agreed.
- If “application purpose’s” first option “Client Application” is chosen, a list of physicians is presented (the system can record the physicians whom MR chooses frequently, and show them in the area “Frequently chosen physicians”).
- The application cannot be submitted until a physician is chosen. If MR chooses “application purpose’s” other options, no need to choose a physician.

C- Notify a physician:

- The field “Notify Physician” is used to set when to notify the physician as the application is finished. If choosing “Not Notify”, the physician will never know about this application, even when Medical Expert sets to notify the physician via Email/SMS finally.
- If choosing “Notify Instantly”, the physician can search for this application in the service list as soon as Medical Expert finishes the application, or receive Email/SMS according to the expert’s settings.
- If choosing “Notify after X days”, the physician can search for this application in the service list after X days when Medical Expert finishes the application, or receive Email/SMS according to the expert’s settings after X days.

D- How to add a physician:

- On the application page, as choosing “Client Application” and agreeing the terms and conditions, the physician list is presented by clicking the button “Search”, referring to the attached screenshot. (physician list.png)
- Clicking the button “Add” leads to the “Add a Physician” page, referring to the attached screenshot. (add a physician.png)
- Type in the fields and submit, the adding is finished.

Required Screens:
0) Navigation:
- How does the user navigate this application?
- Include navigation that you think fits with this iPad application
- Focus on the priority items and how things should be sized 

1) Login Screen:
- A user will be able to enter username, password have a Login button.
- We also need a Forgot Password link.

2) Landing Screen:
- It should very clearly show what user can do with this application and what the application is all about.
- A user can also click into a “getting started” section to get a more detailed overview of how to use the application.

3) Submit New Medical Inquiry Page:
- MR needs to submit a new medical inquiries that includes:

  • Therapeutic area
  • Related product
  • Inquiry question, whether the inquiry is for a doctor or for self-study purpose.
    • If the inquiry is for a doctor, I need choose a doctor from the doctor base. I can use doctor name, hospital name, email, and mobile phone to search for the doctor. I can also see my previously used doctors.

4) Medical Inquiry Responses Page:
- MR needs to view the response of an inquiry including:

  • Related product
  • The response text
  • Response time
  • Response person

5) Historical Medical Inquiries Page:
- MR needs to view all my historical medical inquiries. MR can search by:

Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
Submit JPG/PNG for your submission files.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop and saved as layered PSD file, or Adobe Illustrator as a layered AI file.

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors. We may ask you to update your design or graphics based on checkpoint feedback.

You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
