Challenge Summary
Welcome to "SnapThx - Decorative Sticker Assets Creation Design Challenge". Recently, we just complete design concept challenge to create SnapThx application layout. SnapThx application is a very simple, fun, easy-to-use, quick mobile version of sending a personalized "thank you" message to others via mobile device. This application will be used internally in our client environment by their staff/employees. This time, we came with a fun requirements and need your creative help to accomplish our next goal, create a complete set of decorative assets that will be added as part of the decorative elements in the SnapThx application. Project Brief
Our client wants a very simple, fun, easy-to-use, quick mobile version of sending a personalized "thank you" message to other employees via their mobile device. Similar to other photo + chat apps, IBM wants to quickly design and build a mobile application that allows the user to take a picture or selfie on their mobile device, select from pre-loaded backgrounds / scenes which have space in the image for text, add a personalized message, then preview a newly rendered version of that image, or go back and try a different scene, etc. Once a picture from the camera, or image from the gallery has been selected and the personalized background is complete, the user will enter an employee/recipient name which will be expedited using IBM's type ahead API (to quickly search for, and suggest a list of employees while typing). Once a recipient has been chosen the user can then click send and the "thanks" will be posted to IBM's internal social platform, IBM Connections (via API).
Current Condition
In our current SnapThx application (check apps screenshot), we've got several "Built In" stickers that you can find from 08_IBM.jpg to 15_IBM.jpg. It's pretty cool, but we don't think it's enough for our user to only have these stickers, we want more!!
Challenge Goals
We want to create more cool, fun, engaging, and addictive decorative stickers for the application user so they can have more sticker variation that they can use in the SnapThx application.
Design Considerations
- Check out our "Built In" sticker creation in the screenshot for some brief about the size of stickers.
- No need to follow the current sticker styling, feel free to explore and provides variety of sticker style creation, do you want to build the sticker in Retro style? That's okay. Grunge? No problem. Vintage? That's great, different style variation? Perfect!!
- Your design needs to be "Pop Out", it means in any selfie images that being taken by the user, the stickers must be able to appear stand out and not feels "missing".
- The Decorative Assets should be cool, eye catching, easy, fun and ease to use.
- Think simple but effective solutions! Have fun creating this - let us know how you think it should work!
Decorative Stickers Requirements
01. Thank You Stickers
You can check our current Thank You Sticker from 08_IBM.jpg.
- Think and explore some short, enticing and cool phrase to show honest "Thank You" and create a cool sticker design for your phrase.
- We're gonna need at least 6 stickers creation for the "Thank you".
- Make it "pop out", so in any image background, your stickers will always be stand out!!
- Try include different languages (probably sticking with the English/Romance Language alphabet).
- Different ways to say thank you -- such as "Thank you so much!" and "Thanks!", "Thanks for your help" might be good, as well!
02. Bubble Message Stickers
You can check our current Bubble Message Stickers from 10_IBM.jpg.
- Currently there are 4 bubble message creations available in SnapThx application.
- We simply want more of these!! Think and explore other bubble message shape that cool and reasonable to be use by the user
- No need to use white background as the bubble, feel free to add some creative elements as part of the bubble? maybe like a billboard sign? add make up mirror effect to the bubble? What else?
- At least 5 stickers for bubble message needs to be create!!
- Make it "pop out", so in any image background, your stickers will always be stand out!!
03. Selfie Stickers
You can check our current Selfie Stickers from 14_IBM.jpg and 15_IBM.jpg.
- - Currently there are 12 selfie stickers creations available in SnapThx application.
- These are simply not enough for us, we want more of these!
- You need to comes up with at least 5 unique sticker design for each of these :
* Hat
* Mask
* Glasses
* Mustache / Beard / Hair Style
* Big Smile
* Tie
- Provide us some sticker design like badges and ribbons (e.g., a ribbon that looks like a "first place" ribbon, but that the user can put text into -- so maybe this is kind of a blend between a bubble sticker and a selfie sticker. Create 5 different style design for this too.
- Create super cool design for each of these!!
- Make it "pop out", so in any image background, your stickers will always be stand out!!!
04. Background Decorative Stickers
You can check our current Background Decorative Stickers from 14_IBM.jpg and 15_IBM.jpg.
- Some stickers also shoud be able to apply to the existing background -- stars, balloons, exclamation points, trophies, smiley faces, etc.
- If you can come up with a way to show "clapping hands", that might be a good one, as well.
- One place to look for inspiration might be "http://kudosnow.com/". Or search on Google Images for kudos or thanks.
- Provide us at least 10 stickers for these, you can add more designs if you want..
IMPORTANT : Keep your design so people always stay on the professional end. We want this to be fun & funky, but we need to be careful not to include anything that would be inappropriate for a corporate environment.
Design Guidelines
- Font and colors : Open to Designers.
- Size : follow "built in" stickers in SnapThx current design.
- Make sure create all your graphic in 'vector' format!!
- Make sure your design creation match with our SnapThx design layout.

- Internal Employees from Client Company (IBM).

- How well you design the provided design challenge
- How well your design assets follow the branding guidelines.
- Consistency with our overall goals
- Cleanliness of your graphics and design
Submission & Source Files
Preview Image
Create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.
Submission File
Please upload PNG/JPEG images in a zip file with all requested contest requirements stated above.
Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar and saved as layered PSD, AI, or EPS files.
Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics, images (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors.
