Challenge Summary
Welcome back to the TopCoder Studio Logo and Branding Design Contest 2.
This competition is to take the two winning logo designs from our previous competition and create a new logo that represents Studio. We would like to have the attached logos and elements updated and incorporated into one logo. We like the color wheels and the font treatments in the attached source files and would like to see how YOU design these elements into a logo we might like.
The Studio logo will be used in various marketing campaigns for both digital and print. This will include and is not limited to be t-shirts, merchandise (pens, keychains etc.) posters, banner ads, videos, animations and so on.
At the end of this competition we are looking to see how how you take the attached source files, design guidance and create a new Studio logo. We want this logo to represent the Studio Community.
Round 1
For Round 1, please submit the following for review (you may submit multiple logos):
- We are looking for 2 design variations (one that reads "TopCoder Studio", the other "TopCoder Design Studio")
- We would like the logo designs to include design elements from the colorwheel attachments. Do not exactly copy the color wheels. Think about how they can be incorporated into your logo.
- Your variation and edits to the attached logos and graphics
- Adjustments to name placements
- Explanation of your arrangement of the logo and graphics
- Reasons for color choices and use of graphics in your logo
- Use the template provided
Round 2
Final Deliverables
- 2 design variations (one that reads "TopCoder Studio", the other "TopCoder Design Studio")
- Final logo design variation from attached logo designs
- Any other items you would like to include to promote your solution (web banner, apparel example etc.)
- Notes about why you chose your layout, color choice and words placements
- Any milestone updates
Contest Goal:
For this contest we want you to examine the two logo designs attached as a reference for a new logo. We would like to see how you would incorporate the attached color wheel elements provided as attachments into your logo. We especially like the "simple" font treatments in both logos so our goal would be to have a logo that resembles something similar. You do not need to use the same font but we do like the fonts in the attached files.
Design Problem and Goals
- We have two logo winners from our previous competition that we like. We like the font, font treatment and layout. We also like the color wheel elements and how they look. We now have a problem to somehow combine those elements together to make a logo that we like and want to represent Studio.
- We are looking to update the TopCoder Studio logo and brand to help move the Studio Community forward and help TopCoder clients understand what "Studio" is all about.
This is a continuation/iteration contest based on results from the our first redesign attempt.
