Welcome to the " Fun Series - Design - Mobile Survey App Design Concepts Challenge"
We are starting a series of fun challenges across the different Topcoder design and development tracks. The goal is to have fun! Create conversation around what is good experience design and educate on best practices for working within the challenge format. We want to help new designers understand how to use the Topcoder platform and help existing designers improve their skills, knowledge and understanding on what it takes to "win".
Our first fun design challenge is focused on creating and planning the user experience for a mobile application.
Fun Challenge Details
The “Fun & Learn” company wants to develop a mobile survey solution. Within the format of the fun challenges we will design and build aspects of this survey application. This challenge is focused on designing the potential user experience for the "Survey Manager"
Requirements
This challenge is focused on creating "design concepts" (see forum for discussing of what design concepts are) and how this mobile survey app could potentially look and work. In this challenge, we are focused on designing screens for the Survey Manager user.
- A survey consists of series of questions (currently all free text).
- A Survey Manager can create a survey, by choosing from a list of existing questions.
- A Survey will have 2 fields: Name and Description.
- A Question will have 2 fields: Question ID and Question Text
- A survey can be related to multiple questions.
Design screens related to concepts on what you think the user should see, what the user should experience when interfacing with this application.
Fun!
- This challenge is focused on Apple Mobile Application design! (and improving your skills in this area)
- Do some research! Ask questions in the forum
- This application will be a Mobile Responsive Design but the mobile view still need to feel “at home” when placed next to a native application.
- Think about applications you currently use that are simple and easy to interact with. Apps that allow you to keep requests and tasks simple for the user
- Simple and minimalistic design
- Limit the number of clicks
- Intuitive for non-IT users

Submission & Source Files
Preview Image
Create your preview image as one (1) 1920x1080 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.
Submission File
Please upload PNG images in a zip file with all requested contest requirements stated above. Number your files (01, 02, 03, etc) this will help review them in order.
Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator and saved as layered PSD/AI files.
Final Fixes
No Final Fixes! There is no prize money associated with the challenge. This challenge is intended for fun and learning only
