What is your best strategy for solving tough Marathon problems?
My strategy is to first implement a simple baseline solution to get a score. Then, I iteratively improve it. Sometimes, in the middle of the contest, I start again from scratch, with a clearer view of the problem in mind.
How do you plan to prepare for the Marathon Match Tournament 2025 Final?
Not much planned, but I will try to sleep a bit longer in the days before the contest.
Which skill or area do you think was most critical for your success in this tournament?
I believe it's patience and the ability to iterate effectively. Usually, the top solutions come from key observations missed by the other competitors.
If you had to describe your competitive style in one word, what would it be?
Persistent
Which coder or competitor do you admire most, and why?
Well, I admire many competitors I met during all these years competing. To pick only one, I would say blackmath, because he is a great competitor, a very nice person, and a great friend.
What’s your favorite hobby?
Nowadays, table tennis.
What is your favourite programming language and why?
Java. Well, I am used to it.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
I like living in Brazil, but I would certainly enjoy living in Europe.
