The Challenge

A medical device provider needed a centralized platform to manage and monitor critical hospital equipment. Their existing system lacked real-time insights, remote control capabilities, and user-specific experiences tailored to administrators, clinical staff, and engineers.


They envisioned a cloud-based dashboard that could track performance, manage updates, resolve alerts, and simulate devices virtually—without overwhelming users with technical detail.

The Solution

The project was executed in two phases. In the first design challenge, Topcoder’s global designers built responsive web interfaces for device and service management, as well as patient monitoring dashboards. Features included device-level metrics (like uptime, temperature, and memory), alerts and notifications, service control (start, stop, restart), and real-time patient vitals visualization.


In the second phase, the focus shifted to administrative tasks- creating OTA update workflows, rollback interfaces, device setup screens, and advanced configuration controls. Special attention was paid to maintaining a consistent visual identity, ensuring the UI remained user-friendly even when presenting heavy data like logs and performance trends.
