Building a Smarter Data Transfer Experience
Wireframing and Designing HP’s Data Quality Landing Zone Platform
The Challenge
HP’s Data Quality team needed a better way to manage the high volume of incoming data from sources like manufacturing systems, surveys, and support stats. Their goal: develop a responsive web app to monitor file transfers, flag issues, and route data to various internal systems.
The application needed robust job management features, user tagging, scheduling, and real-time error reporting to support both admin and regular users.
The Solution
Through two Topcoder challenges—one for wireframing and one for design—participants created a user-friendly, responsive interface to simplify complex job workflows. Key screens included login, dashboard, job setup, job tracking, and error handling. Designers followed Material Design principles, created clean UX flows, and accounted for advanced features like scheduling, monitoring, and customizable file transfer jobs.
The iterative approach provided HP with detailed wireframes and polished visual designs ready for handoff to engineering.
