    Challenge Summary

Welcome to Savenia Home Data Entry App Responsive Template Design Challenge! In this challenge we are looking to enhance and improve the user experience for a data entry app for homeowners or realtors to enter information on their solar system and other energy efficient items in their house to generate a “rating” on how energy efficient their house is. This ‘rating’ will allow them (in a later stage) to download home rating labels and marketing materials to promote the increased value of their home during the selling process.

You are provided with a PowerPoint presentation on how the client imagines the app workflow will look like but we are looking for your help to improve it. In addition you are provided with a mini-survey and supporting screens that can quickly pre-qualify upgrades before going through the entire and longer application.

For this challenge we are awarding unlimited number of checkpoint prizes of $150 to each submission the client likes.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

This competition will be run as a two-round challenge.

    • A day or two after the Checkpoint deadline, the challenge holder will announce Round 1 winners and provide design feedback to those winners in the “Checkpoints” tab above.
    • You must submit to Round 1 to be eligible to compete in Round 2. If your submission fails screening for a small mistake in Round 1, you may still be eligible to submit to Round 2.
    • Every competitor with a passing Round 1 submission can submit to Round 2, even if they didn't win a Checkpoint prize.

    Full Description & Project Guide

    Challenge Details:
The goal of this challenge is to help users enter information on their solar system and other energy efficient items in their house to generate a “rating” on how energy efficient their house is.

We are looking for the [topcoder] design Community to help us with planning our new "user experience" (UX).

    Branding Guidelines:
The client would like the app to look related to their current sites:

    Notes:
    - Your solution needs to be a Responsive Design Solution when viewed on Portrait and Landscape view of mobile devices.
    - Show your design solution on landscape View for tablet. Use this screen size (1024px x 768px)
    - Feel free to suggest any tools/function that can bring good User Experience for this Mobile Application.

    Supporting Documents:
    - App workflow (Savenia Home Data Entry App v7.0.pptx).
    - Landing Page Material  (Final Splash + Quick Check.pdf).

    Design Objective:
    - We need to improve the usability of the applications, this means we need to add tooltips, help screens, FAQs wherever needed, and remove them when they are not needed.
    - How quickly the user can find what he wants?
    - The app should be easy to use.
    - It should be easy for me to click on and identify what features are where, and how I interact with them.
    - The icons should be laid out in a easy format allowing me to interact between screens easily.
    - The views are not consistent at the moment, and we need your help to make them consistent.

    Design Requirements:
    Important Note:

-- Please refer to page 3 from Final Splash + Quick Check.pdf

    Reliability Rating and Bonus

For challenges that have a reliability bonus, the bonus depends on the reliability rating at the moment of registration for that project. A participant with no previous projects is considered to have no reliability rating, and therefore gets no bonus. Reliability bonus does not apply to Digital Run winnings. Since reliability rating is based on the past 15 projects, it can only have 15 discrete values.
