Challenge Overview

We have a client that operates many facilities around the world.  From time to time, they need to make changes to various aspects of a process at these facilities.  Due to the nature of the facilities, it is very important to follow guidelines and business rules to avoid mistakes that could have catastrophic effects.

Currently, the client is working with a paper Management of Change process.  We are looking to help convert their process into a web-based application, one that will be easier to use, easier to report on, and easier to enforce business rules.

The traditional MOC process starts with some initial data collection to classify the type of MOC.  Based on the type, we can then determine who needs to be involved and what the workflow looks like (action items, reviews, approvals, etc.).  An MOC will go through multiple stages from Initiation to Scoping to Reviews to Approvals.  Our initial thoughts would be to have a web app that helps guide the users along the many phases of the MOC, and also allows admins to customize business rules and workflows. For more details, please follow along in the Project Definition Document attached.

Copilot Goal

We have already completed an initial game plan to get this project started.  We're looking for a copilot to help validate the Game Plan and support us with our development challenges (back end services, front end services).  You'll be working along side a Studio (Design) copilot that will run the UI/UX-related challenges.  We've estimated about 20 weeks for this application, and ~$145k budget.

This app is geared towards internal Engineer and Scientist employees.  Initially, we'll be focusing on a web application, but have budgeted for extending the app for mobile support as well (iPhone and Android devices).  We're looking to build out an initial core application with minimal features first, and then iterate to expand the features.

The client is a Microsoft shop, so experience with .NET, VisualStudio, MSSQL is a plus.  Past experience with mobile or web projects is also a plus.
