THE MAKING OF WIZARD.FIT PART 4 - LAUNCHING A HEALTH AND FITNESS APP IN 30 DAYS, NO SWEAT
When we last checked in with the Wizard.Fit team in early April, they were completing the build, rapidly testing, and entering the final sprint to launch the MVP. (Catch up on Part I, Part 2, and Part 3.)
Clinton Bonner, VP at Topcoder, spoke with entrepreneur Soofi Safavi about the whirlwind process, and what it takes to bring an application to market in 30 days with a 100% remote workforce.
INNOVATION AT HYPER-SPEED
The app launched Monday, April 20th, which is a dizzying achievement. Consider the timeline: Soofi had the “ah-ha” moment for the concept on March 16th, his team approached Topcoder on March 17th. Now, just over a month later, the Wizard.Fit MVP is out in the world, and in use by yoga and fitness instructors who are creating and teaching form-intensive classes virtually.
What would have easily taken six to nine months using traditional processes for design, development, and QA, was achieved in a fraction of the time. It’s a testament to the dedication of the Wizard.Fit team and the accelerated outcomes that are possible by leveraging remote, on-demand talent.
CONNECTION, COMMUNITY, & WHAT'S TO COME
The Wizard.Fit app is hitting the market at a time when fostering connection and community is more important than ever. The app gives yoga instructors and fitness trainers the power to connect with students virtually in a way that creates something brand new. This opens up possibilities far beyond supporting health and fitness during the current crisis. When studios re-open but students are traveling, or loyal to a studio or instructors but moving to a new city, Wizard.Fit offers a way to amplify health and wellness now and into the future.
There are exciting features in the works for for Wizard.Fit, including AI-powered, machine-learning enhancements to the platform. On top of the live interaction with your trainer, students will be able to correct and perfect their form and posture via superimposed video as well as animations.
