“The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn” – Alvin Toffler

One of the perks of working in the IT industry, is the opportunity to learn new technologies, and build new and exciting things. Quite often, we start exploring new technologies, and paradigms, and then drop it mid way owing to lack of direction or goals.

Learning could be fun, as well, if we keep small goals, and try to achieve them.

Using the above perspectives as the cornerstone, we are launching the “Fun&Learn Series” with 4 different tracks. Choose one, two, or all for your learning pleasure.

The different tracks are:

  1. Design
  2. Development – Salesforce
  3. Development – Mobile Apps
  4. Data Science

A new challenge will be launched every week, featuring one of the tracks, starting Tuesday, and ending on Saturday. We will include useful links and tutorials, that will help you complete the challenge. Each challenge should not take more than 4 – 10 hours of your time, depending upon your familiarity with the track.

We will be working to build a small app or project via the series of challenges. Each week we will try to incrementally build using the previous week’s work.

Currently, there are no prizes associated with the challenges. However, we are sure you will enjoy the learning process.

We have already launched one challenge from each of the tracks listed above. You can find the previous challenges on the program page.

We hope you find the initiative useful, whether you are newbie or a veteran. We definitely recommend you signing up and submitting for a track, if you are new to topcoder. The experience should give you a good understanding of the process and will help prepare you for the time that you compete in actual challenges.

We would welcome your feedback and participation in the series. Let us know, if you would like to see additional tracks or other technologies. To do this, please visit topcoder’s new Fun Challenges Forum.
