This is my 5th Dreamforce and the 4th year in a row as a speaker at the conference and the one thing that hasn’t changed over year years is my love for keynotes.
I’ve been to a number of big conferences like Oracle Open World, Apple WWDC and several more but trust me – nothing beats the way Salesforce puts out these amazing keynotes year after year.
The day began with an enlightening fireside chat between Marc Benioff and the man behind the ‘Uber’ revolution – Travis Kalanick. It was great to learn about the passion, the struggles and the journey of Kalanick and his team which has now turned Uber into one of the most hotly pursued startup success stories all over the world.
The big one!
While Benioff may or may not ben ideal presidential candidate, he’s certainly among the most charismatic personalities in tech industry in recent times.
Though his keynote was at 1 in the afternoon, people started queuing up as early as 10 AM. The rooms were full by noon and the overflow rooms were full in another 15 minutes, and then there were more overflow rooms which were all jam packed before the keynote began.
And there were the other big guns in action as well – Parker Harris, Alex Dayon and several others. There was a lot of emphasis on the partnerships with Cisco and Microsoft, in fact, at one point of time, I was confused if this is Dreamforce or a Microsoft conference 🙂
Unsurprisingly, the day ended with fireside chat with the Microsoft CEO – Satya Nadella. More details were shared about how Salesforce and Microsoft are now working closer than ever with several key announcements like Skype for Business integration with Salesforce Lightning Experience, Salesforce integration with several Office products etc.
It was an action packed day so it was most appropriate that people winding down with an app bash on a beautiful San Francisco night!
I’ll be back tomorrow with more DF’15 updates!
