During the presentation, Leland provided a demonstration of the NASA ISS FIT (Food Intake Tracker) iPad app that will be flying on-board the International Space Station (ISS) in 2015.
The ISS FIT iPad application was built by harnessing the power of the [topcoder] community – it required 18 challenges and included 382 registrants from 35 different countries.
Leland also touched upon a bit of his personal and professional history – he is a former NFL player that went on to become an astronaut, flew two missions on board the space shuttle and helped construct the ISS.
Leland is a huge proponent of STEAM education and anything that helps forward the steady march of technological progress both on and off Earth.
We are excited and proud that Leland has shared the awesome work that the [topcoder] community has developed as part of the ISS FIT app.
