Overview

Application Overview
Hyperion Technology, Inc. recognizes that recovery of overpaid Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits by State Workforce Agencies (SWA) is critical to the solvency and integrity of the UI Trust Fund. Most collection systems currently used by states have been put together over many years and are commonly a collection of individual systems developed for separate recovery business functions. Paper driven and labor intensive, these patchwork systems, while operable, have significant limitations, including increased maintenance costs and the imposition of significant redundancies.

The primary focus of Recover will be the creation of a fast path process of collection activities related to benefit overpayments created within a state's mainframe system. The system will also provide for the tracking and management of those cases that do not meet fast path criteria.

The Recover application is a Microsoft .NET web application that leverages the latest technologies to provide the most powerful, flexible, and extensible system available.

Competition Overview
Automated Testing is an important part of any application. For this purpose, many test scripts were written to test the Recover project's web site. These test scripts were written against an HTML only prototype of the application. Now that the application has been built, these scripts must be revised to work with the live version. The scripts were written in Seapine's QA Wizard Pro. You can download a license at their website (QA Wizard).

Technologies

Application Technologies

  • ASP.NET 2.0
  • ASP.NET AJAX

Testing Technologies

  • QA Wizard Pro

** Any additional testing frameworks or jars must be approved before being used.

Documentation

This project is expected to be very fast, and require a minimum of overhead and configuration. All the developer is strictly required to have is an installed QA Wizard Pro instance running on a trial license. Provided to the user will be:

  • A full set of architecture and specification documentation for reference
  • URL and logins to the actual website running in the TopCoder environment
  • A copy of the original prototype for reference
  • The full set of existing QA Wizard Scripts to be converted, including the configured Application Registry
  • A human-readable step by step walkthrough of each of those scripts in the form of excel files.
  • Detailed list of test scenarios

Submission Deliverables

The competitors will submit the complete list of QA Wizard Pro scripts fully compatible with the given web site. These scripts must be bundled in any appropriate QA Wizard projects for ease of use. The winner will be chosen based on accuracy of the conversion and organization of the deliverables into meaningful projects. Competitors may choose to make teams and divide the individual sections of work between team members, or work on the entire project as one.

For the purposes of limiting scope, ONLY those scripts marked as Validation scripts are required for conversion. Test cases associated with functional scripts are now out of the scope of this competition. Please consult the forums for further details.
