Voting Widget is Ready for Battle | Reply
Voting for the Truveo Developer Challenge is open.

See the post on the main page for details, and please use this thread for any comments or questions about the Voting Widget.

Good luck!

I was wondering how the challenges are selected.

I was trying to install a browser plugin from the other participants and so had to restart my browser. But when I got back to the voting widget, it was already showing a different set of applications and I was wondering how I can go back to voting for the application I tried installing in the first place.

Thanks!

Oops I should have read the battle widget post clearly. The challenges are "randomly selected".

Sorry bout that. :)

Also. I used refresh many times to find my submission. But never did. Are you sure you included my submission to? my submission is VExpresS. Thank you!

Hi vlad_D, I did saw your submission.

It was funny seeing the Terms and Conditions during installation. But of course I clicked Yes!

;)

Thanks for confirming. Thanks for installing. I don't remember the terms.. :)) ahah
Re: Voting Widget is Ready for Battle (response to post by vlad_D ) | Reply
I saw yours in there as well...

The guys more technical than I am tell me the pairings are selected at random, with a slight preference toward applications that have not yet been shown to the user.

I'm sure they will jump in here to correct me any minute now :)

edit: oops, that was ambatvinay's VideoWall that made me lol - this is what happens when you test 96 applications :)

Ok. Thanks for confirming that mine is in the game.

are you sure the terms weren't from .NET 3.5?
Re: Voting Widget is Ready for Battle (response to post by denis ) | Reply
Maybe denis was right, I can't remember if it was from your app or from the videowall app. :)

But I did install your app, the VidExpressSearch (can't remember the exact name as well) hehehe.

And I agree, I found the voting stage more tiring than the development phase!

:)

I see a battle between yoitsfrancis's similar submissions in battle. So I don't see any option where I can vote for both saying both are equally good. Are we supposed to certainly choose one in such cases ?
Re: Voting Widget is Ready for Battle (response to post by sb99 ) | Reply
yes, choose the best one. Imagine the old system of voting.

If you have two submission A - B which submission would you put first between two? that submission shall win the battle :)
Re: Voting Widget is Ready for Battle (response to post by vlad_D ) | Reply
Well, I figured out an option if I don't want to decide between two submissions. Just doing a browser refresh helps.

Wow, with no end condition for voting, it makes me a Voting maniac :)

Have fun!

It took me a couple of minutes to figure out that the voting widget was like an energizer bunny.

Had to go back to the truveo front page to see how to finish the widget only to find out that it doesn't have an end!

But then I got dizzy so I stopped. :)
