Three trips to the 2009 TopCoder Open in Las Vegas, Nevada are on the line, along with $7500 in prize money in the first competition of the Sensations Developer Challenge.

This contest to come up with ideas for Accessibility applications, which will be developed through TCO competitions and presented at the TopCoder Open in June.  The winners (up to three) of this idea generation contest will not only win a trip to the TCO, but will be eligible for a share of a $25,000 Sensations Bonus Prize, which will be awarded to the contributors of the best app!

Since development of the apps will take place through online TopCoder competitions, winners of any contest associated with the Sensations Developer Challenge will not only win the prize money and TCO points for that individual contest, but will eligible for a share of the Accessibility Bonus if that application wins!

AOL & TopCoder have teamed to bring this exciting accessibility initiative to the 2009 TopCoder Open!

Guided by input from a diverse community of individuals and organizations working on the forefront of accessibility, the Sensations Developer Challenge will utilize all software development & Studio tracks of TCO’09 competition to challenge you to build solutions for improved usability of mainstream internet-based products by people with disabilities.

Every stage of development will happen through competition, and we’ll present the winning apps — and announce the winners of the $25,000 Sensations Bonus prize — live in Las Vegas at the TopCoder Open in June!
