A contest is a single competition. To create a new contest, do the following:

• Go the Topcoder Direct homepage: http://www.topcoder.com/direct/home
• Login into the cockpit.
• Create a new contest shell
• If you already have a project then create the contest in that project, otherwise a new project will have to be created first.
• Select the contest type from the “Studio” or “Software” choices.
• Name the contest
• Provide billing information.
• Provide the contest schedule.
• Create the contest contents
• Provide detailed requirements, which will explain what the contest will accomplish, and what technologies it will use. Upload any necessary files that help with understanding of the contest goals.
• Set the prizes.
• Click the “Get a Copilot” button if you need a copilot
• Launch the contest
