Challenge Summary

Welcome to $400 Travel Buddy Design Updates F2F Design challenge!

For this F2F Design, we need your help updating existing storyboards by following the requirements stated below.  Storyboards were originally created from the Travel Buddy - Mobile App Design Concepts challenge.

 


IMPORTANT
This F2F is subjective - so the first solution that the client likes and fulfills the required updates will win. We will consider all submissions until a the winner is declared.

00 - Application Flow

00 - Splash_Screen

  1. Move Praxair logo to top (flip placement across horizontal axis of screen)
  2. Open to alternative design suggestions.  Include as 00_Splash_Screen_X.png if you do.

01 - Login

  1. Admin will want to be able to swap out image or use solid color.  Provide a solid color alternative that you think looks good and fits with the style guidelines, e.g. 01_Login_Color_Background.png.
  2. Somewhere, add “New User? Create Profile” link so users can register.

01_Login_Forgot_Password.png (New)

  1. Create alternative 01_Login_Forgot_Password.png based on 01_Login.png to show how the page would look if a user clicked “Forgot Password”.
    1. An example might be to replace username and password input fields with email address input field.  Add some explanation text, e.g. “Please enter your email address to receive instructions on how to change your password.”  Includes “Submit” and “Cancel” buttons.

02 - Create Profile

Arrive at Create Profile from 01 - Login, after clicking new “Create Profile” link.  This would also be the same page used if clicking “Edit Profile” from a flyout menu.

  1. Combine Step 1 and Step 2 into a single page/step (use Step 2 as the base, and bring in components of Step 1).
  2. No longer capturing “Ride Details” or Vehicle Picture.  Can remove “Pictures” heading.
  3. Allow ability to upload profile pic.
  4. Allow ability to upload background pic.  If no background pic, app will use a default.

  1. Should capture both email address and phone number.
  2. Remove “Willing to Share Driving” section.  Update to “Ride or Drive Preference”, with possible values = Drive, Ride.  Layout similar to “Smoking Preference” (one line).
  3. Smoking preference options should be “Non-smoking”, “Smoking okay”, “No preference”.

03 - Profile Page

Would arrive on these pages when viewing a profile.  Potentially either after tapping on your own profile from the Dashboard, or on another user’s profile when searching for new rides under Discover a Trip.

  3. Rename “Sharing” to “Ride or Drive Preference” and display the preference from the profile
  4. Rename “Smoking” to “Smoking Preference”, and display the preference from the profile
  5. NEW: Include both email and phone input

  3. Remove “Select this driver”.

04 - Dashboard

Would arrive at this page after logging in or finishing creating a new user profile.

  2. Remove “My Ride” button.
  3. Remove “Edit Profile” button.  Add “Edit Profile” to Menu drawer.
  4. Rename “Discover Trip” -> “Discover Trips”
  5. Rename “Manage My Trip” -> “Manage My Trips”
  6. Change “Trip Talk” to “Trip Alerts”.  This will be used of new trips if you have a saved search, or pending ride requests.

07 - Create a Trip

Would arrive at this page from “Create Trip” button on Dashboard.

  1. Show “Trip name” as read-only, as “Brent’s Danbury-Buffalo Trip”.
  2. Remove Driving/Flying toggles.  Flying will be for Phase 2.
  3. Pick start date -> Similar to 05_3_Pick Start Date.png, but inline for “Create a Trip” page.
  4. Replace “Next” with “Save”.

08 - Add Riders

Do not do.  Remove these images. 08_1_Add Rider.png, 08_2_Add Rider SEARCH.png.  Riders should add themselves, not the other way around.  Drivers should not search and add riders.

09 - Manage My Trip

Arrive here from Dashboard “Manage My Trips” button, 07 - Create a Trip, or 06 - Search Results, after requesting rides.

10 - Trip Alerts

Arrive here from Dashboard “Trip Alerts” button.

New: Trip Talk will be repurposed as “Trip Alerts”.  For Riders, you will get trip alerts for upcoming trips that matched one of your saved searches (the “Save search for future Trip Alerts” checkbox was checked).

  2. New: Separate the page into sections.  Top section = “Pending Trip Requests” for trips I own where there are outstanding rider requests.  Bottom section = “Trip Discovery” for trips that match one of my saves searches.
  3. Include “Brent’s Danbury-Buffalo Trip” in top section.  Clicking on “1” notification goes to 09_4_Riders Pending.png
  4. Remove “Sarah: Want to join the trip” text.
  5. Include “Keith’s” trip in bottom section.
  6. Remove “Brent: OK! See you tomorrow :)” text.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

How To Submit

  • New to Studio? ‌Learn how to compete here
  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.

Screening:

All submissions are screened for eligibility before the challenge holder picks winners. Don't let your hard work go to waste. Learn more about how to  pass screening.
