Challenge Overview
Background:
Hewlett Packard has developed a set of JSON-based REST API’s which enable “Big Data”-type processing capabilities allowing developers to process information embedded in unstructured text and images in previously inaccessible formats. This platform is called IDOL OnDemand and at this point is in the Early Access release phase, open for all Innovators to use.
HP IDOL OnDemand Case Search
As a proof of concept for the API’s, the IDOL OnDemand group is going to be developing an application that enables search of Cases from the Salesforce.com platform. IDOL OnDemand goes beyond typical text-based searching. It can also perform conceptual searches on content and it is this capability that this application will showcase along with the ability to process text from documents in a variety of formats. In another challenge, HP IDOL OnDemand Case Indexer, we’re developing the capability to load an IDOL OnDemand Text Index with Salesforce.com Case data. In this challenge we’ll be developing a search interface to retrieve and display this data.
Final Submission Guidelines
The detail requirements specification for this challenge is found in the downloads section, but here are some general submission guidelines:
1. You should use Visualforce and Apex.
2. You may use Bootstrap and/or JQuery javascript libraries.
3. Provide a video of your submission in action. If english isn't your first language please feel free to annotate with text comments.
4. Provide detailed documentation of your solution.
5. Please provide your submission as an Ant package for evaluation.
Employees and direct and indirect subcontractors of Hewlett-Packard Company and its subsidiaries and other affiliates (“HP”), and employees and direct and indirect subcontractors of HP’s partners (including TopCoder and its affiliates) are not eligible to participate in the challenge.
